Leadership Model
In my opinion, I would fall in the Transformational Leadership Model, because my goal from helping others is to allow them to learn and experience new skills to be a better person. Especially with kids, I want to teach kids how to be responsible, respectful and courageous, so they can be independent individuals and be able to solve any conflicts they may face in the future. I want them to believe in themselves and show the world that they will thrive to their dreams and become role models, too. I love to help, inspire and encourage others so they can have the confidences to challenge themselves and absorb life lessons that may benefit them in the future.

Wow! I really like your photo for the Social Change Model, it's simple, effective, and frankly makes me hungry. That was very clever, nice job!
ReplyDeleteI myself also love working with children and really admire your desire to help others in general. I think it is so important to teach younger generations the values we hold important, doing so truly empowers them. Your entire reflection was so honest and inspiring, I see such a strong leader in you and know you will help so many people in your life.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, awesome analogy for the social change model!
ReplyDeleteI would have considered the relational model the most appropriate for teaching, as the teachers I remember most were the ones who showed the most interest in me. However, you brought up a really good idea with the transformational model. When I actually stop and think about it, the teachers who helped me the most so far are actually the ones who helped me change and grow. There is definitely some overlap between the "relational" and "transformational" teachers (I don't like those as definitions of people, but we're going with it), but it definitely took more than just a good relationship to help me succeed.
I like how you applied the models to teaching, since that's probably going to be the most relevant application in your life anyway.
